Postproduction Journey

  Postproduction Process Once I had the necessary footage, I was able to create a draft version of the idents on final cut pro and then uploaded it to get feedback from an audience. Once the feedback was acquired, I analysed it to identify what areas needed improving from the draft version. With this I identified that the area in which needed improving for both of the idents was the lack of sound. Footage recorded Idents Postproduction edits First, I placed all the necessary footage onto the tracks in final cut pro and then began to edit the footage that was there. This had involved reducing audio clips to fit the needed times scale, cutting out any footage that would not be used and doubling up the footage for some of the scenes in order to make the ident the correct length. Animating The process of animating the stop motion was long as the time available to create the stop motion was inconsistent therefore several intervals of animating the stop motion and then logging on the rushes log was done in order to complete the stop motion animation ident. Due to circumstance not all the shots in the animating process came out perfect first try meaning several versions of the same shot had to be made in order to get a shot that was best for the ident. During the process of animating the ident several documents were created as a means in order to prepare for the next stages of creating the product as a means to save time having to create these documents when they are required. Editing once all the necessary shots had been taken the best clips out of the ones that were created could then be used in order to create the first draft of the ident. Animating Before the ident could start being produced, I required the necessary elements in order to make the stop motion animation consisting of the necessary pieces in order to build the sets and sort the needed props out, the necessary Lego characters will be needed for the ident and the necessary script would need to be created in order to complete the animation. Once all the necessary elements were ready the animating for the second stop motion animation ident had begun and in the first session of animating the ident, I had animated all the shots that are on the shooting script. Due to there being time constraints with the creation of the ident I was unable to take multiple versions of the same shot in order to find the best out of what was animated. Reflection of Production 3

 Last week I had completed the second draft created a 1 st version of both idents and got audience feedback for both of them. Then I had completed the audience feedback analyses and identified the useful pieces of information that could be used in order to improve the idents. The objective this week is to improve the idents by adding sounds to the idents in the form of both dialogue for the characters that can be used as well as sound effects for the items that can be seen within the ident.

Reflection of Production week 2

 The first Rushes log has been finished and the animating for the first ident has been finished as well with the production journey for the first ident have been finished. The aim for this week is to get a first draft version of the first ident and get feedback for it as well as attempting to get the second ident finished and have similar results for that as well.

Reflection of production Week 1

In the first week I have started creating the first ident getting the first couple of shots from the shooting script done. In this week I have also started the rushes log for the first ident, the production journey and have prepared several other documents in which I will require in order to complete the first ident. My goal for this week is to complete the first ident as well as continue the rushes log and production journey and hopefully prepare to start the second ident.

Legal and Ethical

 1) In regard to issues that may occur with the ident there is: legal, ethical and moral issues that need to be covered before the creation of the product. With the legal area this is concerning the areas of the law that need to be considered as if any are broken then it can delay the product or have worse consequences. An example of this would be a copyright act if any copyrighted or branded products are used in the ident then they must have permission to have the products in there. In the area of ethical this is in regard to belief and religion and if any mention or misrepresentation of these areas it can impact in how people watch the ident and understand the idents message. An example of this could be a joke that is made about a certain religion or belief in which people have which can offend people and thus make it difficult in getting the message of the ident across. Recess outdoor/indoor locations

 Location for production indoor  The location in which I will be producing the stop motion idents will be in is my own home where I would be able to create the stop motion without disruption from any unforeseen problems that could happen with a normal recording. This environment is also suitable for creating the stop motions as I would have the necessary resources already at hand to produce the stop motions rather than needing to find them prior to the production of the stop motion. Since I have done stop motions prior to this I have the necessary area in which can be used in order to film the stop motion making the location more ideal in using for the production of the stop motion. Continengcy Plan

 In regard to contingency plans: The first will be for if voice actor is unable to make it to the designated recording session that they are required for. In this case another person will need to be prepared ahead of time in order to be able to make the recording and do the necessary lines in which are required. This will allow me to acquire the necessary recordings and keep to the schedule that would be put in place and ensure everything is going according to time.   The second will be for if there is a problem with the lights that are being used for the animating and will require a new source of light. In this case spare light sources will be kept at hand and at the ready encase the current light sources that are being used to create the stop motion are affected in some way shape or form that will interfere with the stop motion. Launch Date

In regard to a launch date the project will be aimed to be released around time of new year in order to sell the idea of a new year new start and have new humorous idents to show of the comedic side of the channel. This would attract audiences as the new idents would be new and humorous which will interest these audiences who would have seen the same that's tv ident for ages.  Another reason for having the launch date at new year is that many people would be watching the tv watching the new year celebrations therefore the ident can be placed before the event that that's tv can have and allow for the viewers to see it. This can prove as means for entertaining the audience and getting them prepared for the new year's event in which that's tv is preparing and encourage them to continue watching.

The brief says that Freeview wants us to rebrand some of the idents for the channels that are on there and it needs to be Reflectent of the channel, the content in which it possesses as well as the audience in which watches the content that is on the channel.   The purpose of the first ident is meant to reflecting of the channels humorous side whilst creating the logo in order to confirm what the channel in which they are watching.  The purpose of the second ident is to say what programme will be on next but will be done in a humorous way to reflect the programmes as well the channel as well.  The first ident will be of the channel logo being built up from Lego bricks and the Lego person in the ident will be hit by said bricks in a humorous way whilst the logo is being built up and at the end, they look upon the channel logo in which has been created. Conventions of the ident

  Here the name of the channel is used in order to say to the viewers that what they are watching "that's tv" and suggest the possible content that is on there. Here the logo is Reflectent of the event in which they are doing in order to show the theme of what will be on during this event. Typically, idents can be used in order to transition between programmes saying what is next on the channel and what is on now however this ident simply displays the channel logo and informs of the event that is occurring and not is what on next. The main element of continuity is the continued use of the channel logo used for the audio-visual promo that is used on all versions of the ident but other than this there is no other elements of continuity.

The first ident in which the channel of that's' tv had was the first plain and simple ident the pink text without capital letters with the ' being represented with the tv. This is meant to reflect the simple nature of the channel and the content in which they are providing to the audience as means of informing and entertaining. The purpose of the ident is to be plain and simple to catch the viewers eye and get the message across regarding that this channel is providing tv in order to entertain and interest the audience. Since then, several other logos have been made using the same design and text as the original but having the location in where the programme was being broadcast. An example of this is the "that's tv norfolk" which is the exact same as the original with the only difference being that the word Norfolk is used in order to signify the location of the broadcasting of the programme. The first channel is "that's tv" and the programmes in which it shows are of a variety of different elements such as entertainment, news and weird events that have happened recently The target audience of that's tv is that of the older audience who are going to be more interested with the current events of the world than that of younger audiences. This is known as younger audiences would rather focus more on entertaining programmes whereas adults would use this as of source of information in order to have an idea as to what is going on in the world. The message from the logo here is that it is meant to be straight to the point as to what is going on due to its simple nature as well as use of only one colour in order to get the point across that they are delivering tv. Audio visual promos are made in order to promote and existing or new product that is to be released varying in the type of product that it promotes films or tv programmes that are relaunching.
