P2 History of the Channel

The first ident in which the channel of that's' tv had was the first plain and simple ident the pink text without capital letters with the ' being represented with the tv. This is meant to reflect the simple nature of the channel and the content in which they are providing to the audience as means of informing and entertaining. The purpose of the ident is to be plain and simple to catch the viewers eye and get the message across regarding that this channel is providing tv in order to entertain and interest the audience.

Since then, several other logos have been made using the same design and text as the original but having the location in where the programme was being broadcast. An example of this is the "that's tv norfolk" which is the exact same as the original with the only difference being that the word Norfolk is used in order to signify the location of the broadcasting of the programme. These designs are meant to be simply like the design that came before it and reflect the area in which the channel is being shown in by simply adding the name and not being truly reflective. The purpose of these redesigns is meant to be more inclusive by making the specific idents being reflective of the specific areas of which the channel is broadcasting to.

There have been several other idents for special evets/programmes in which that's tv has on the channel and these were animated in order to make the programme feel a bit more unique than what is usually on the programme. These animations are unique as they are meant to fit the theme of a certain time period due to the programme being music from the era such as the "that's tv 80s" where it has been animated as if were made at the time and made to be reflective of this. This is meant to be reflective of the style of the 80s and create a sense of nostalgia for the time period as people are listening to the content that is being released from the programme. The purpose of this ident is meant to get the message across that the channel is celebrating the 80s and providing content that is from the time period.
